Just finishing up a bunch of projects in the last couple months. Here is the front yard of a large project we have been working on in Felton, Ca. It is the same project I mentioned im my previous post (3/3/10). Still more to come from this project.
Japanese style Landscape
This has been a really fun project for us. My client is a Bonsai artist, so we were able to use some of his trees in the landscape.
Here are some of the features in this project:
--Large biologically filtered pond and waterfall.
The waterfall has 16 ft of total drop with a 20 ft stream.
--'Autumn Flame' patio
--Natural stone veneer retaining walls.
We used a mix of 'Autumn Flame', 'Loon Lake' and 'Wolf Creek' veneer stone to give the walls a beautiful color and feel.
All of the stone work was sealed with a low sheen stone laquer.
--Redwood foot bridge of the stream.
--Redwood viewing bench.

One thing that makes Living Waters unique in our area is our Pondless waterfall design and installation.
We use high end products and take the time to make each feature a work of art.
Below is a slide show of our most recent project, in Salinas.
We use a filtration system built by Filtrific.com that is far superior to the traditional way of building Pondless water features. Traditionally, the pondless feature was created using a basin filled with gravel. The Filtrific system uses a filter box set away from the basin (as seen below).
This allows debris to flow into a screen that can be easily maintained.
Feel free to contact us to learn more about Filtrific products and options for your water feature.
I included some before, after and constuction pictures so you could see the process of creating a pondless waterfall.

Its been a nice rainy winter so far, nice for the earth, muddy for Landscapers.
We are still getting our projects done, inbetween rains, that is.
Here is a close up of our most recent waterfall project in Felton.
More pics to come as we finish off the rest of the feature.

Here are some more pics from the Pondless Waterfall we did this fall in Scotts Valley, Ca. This was a really fun project that we got to be a part of thanks to Baxter Landscaping.

With the recent loss of our local pond supplier, Pondsaway, I have realized how important
our local suppliers are. I would like to thank all our local buisnesses, in the landscaping trade, for helping us with quality service, quality product and reasonable prices.

Well, the new year has come. So far January has brought us some good rainfall, as well as the first water feature of the year. We just started, so I will post some pics in a week or so. It should turn out to be an interesting feature, with approx. 25 ft of head hight and 60 ft of streams and waterfalls.
Here is a couple pics from a different project we are finishing up in Boulder Creek.

Here is a slide show and some before/ after pictures of a fun project we completed this season.
This project was built in Westside Santa Cruz, where the cool costal fog mixed with plenty of sun, allowed us to create a fun Tropical style landscape and water feature.
Before After
This feature is unique because our client wanted to create a more artistc feature, rather than the natural features we usualy build. He all ready had a natural looking water feature in another part of the yard, so this waterfall was designed with a little less rock and more concrete work.
Oh, and by the way, the project site was up 4 flight of stairs then up a latter.
Thats right, all the materials for this feature (4 tons of concrete, 2 tons of stone and misc. other materials) were hauled up to the site by hand!
Some products we used on this feature were:
--Aquafin 2k/m to seal the concrete. This is a great flexible water sealant. --Altlantic Color Falls. You can see this in the upper falls, with a clean 3 ft sheet of water, set recessed into the concrete. It has an LED ligh built into the box to iluminate the falls at night (night time pics soon to come).

Well, its been a tough year for waterscaping and landscaping in general. We are very thankfull to have any work, let alone some really fun projects. My thanks goes out to all my new cliets for allowing Living Waters to 'play in your backyard' as I sometimes joke.
My existing clients have also really come through for me this season.
It is a blessing to see our company grow with all your help.
